FSB: FORTUNE SMALL BUSINESS ANNOUNCES 2005 LIST OF BEST BOSSES
Andrew Field of PrintingForLess.com named a Best Boss 2005
New York, September 22, 2005 - FSB: Fortune Small Business magazine has named PrintingForLess.com president Andrew Field on its 2005 list of Best Bosses, which recognizes entrepreneurs who are particularly well-rounded, with the vision, creativity, focus, and great people skills to get the best out of their employees. Andrew was one of 15 winners announced at a conference and celebration in Chicago on Sept. 20 for the third annual Best Bosses competition, sponsored by FSB in collaboration with Winning Workplaces, a non-profit organization that helps small businesses create successful workplace practices. A list and profiles of the winners appear in the October issue of FSB, and at www.FSB.com.
Managing the Gen Y workers flooding the job market is a key part of Field's and his fellow winners' success. These leaders have created business practices that treat twenty-somethings more like consumers than employees, going beyond simply dispensing a laundry list of benefits and fun perks to ensure their entire workplace culture fits the needs of their employees. "You get back more than you put in," says Best Boss and PrintingForLess.com founder Andrew Field. "We have designed our workplace to invest in and empower our employees to do their best work. In return, we get happy, committed employees and a high-performing culture that leads to loyal customers and faster growth."
This year's Best Bosses had to meet a high bar to prove themselves winners. FSB and its partner, Winning Workplaces, expanded the judging criteria to evaluate employee satisfaction, investment in workers and benefits such as medical insurance and retirement plans. They also conducted a 360-degree performance review by talking with customers, advisors, board members, investors, and randomly selected employees about the nominee's management style and philosophy. "What's most heartening is to see leaders from a wide range of industries and from across the country all find ways to create workplaces where employees are gratified and rewarded, and the businesses and the employees both benefit," says Kenneth Lehman, chairman of Winning Workplaces.
PrintingForLess.com is the leading online commercial printing company with more than 40,000 customers throughout the United States. With Andrew at the helm, PrintingForLess.com revolutionized the industry by providing instant online pricing and ordering, unmatched technical and customer support, and high quality four-color marketing materials such as brochures, post cards, stationery and catalogs. "No leader can produce results on his own," says Field. "The congratulations for the Best Bosses honor goes to everyone in the company for making PrintingForLess.com a great place to work and buy printing."
