New Age Beer with Historical Sense of Humor

The possibilities are endless for custom or standard die cut business cards from PrintingForLess.com. A unique business card can help you advertise your product or service in the hands of your customers. With options from foil stamping to embossing to die cutting and so much more, your business card is sure to stand out from the norm. 21st Amendment Brewery had us create these beer can shaped business cards for their employees, better known as “Beeraucrats,” sounds like a pretty great job to me! This card in particular showcases their extra pale session ale, “Bitter American.”

Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan founded 21st Amendment Brewery in 2000 in San Francisco, CA. 21st Amendment was cleverly named after the 21st Amendment to the Constitution which repealed Prohibition, thank goodness. The owners of the brewery feel that prohibition wiped out the ability of neighbors and families alike to gather and relax over a tall, cold one. Some of the craft brews offered by 21st Amendment are; the ”Sneak Attack” Saison, appropriately named after Washington’s attack by crossing the Delaware as well as the, “Back in Black” IPA, created to commemorate Paul Revere’s moonlit ride to Lexington, MA. Who wouldn’t want to sit back and embrace America’s past over a can of historically correct craft beer?

Customizing PDF Presets in Photoshop and Illustrator

In my previous two blog posts, I talked about the usefulness of saving PDF files in Photoshop and Illustrator, and how you could choose the best PDF presets. While the default settings are good for many purposes, there are times when you might want to customize them. I can’t go into all the reasons … Read More >

6 Ways to Sell with Storytelling

In the early 1960’s, a track and field coach out of Oregon had a ritual he lived by. At the start of every season, he could be found in the locker room, wrapping a measuring tape around the feet of every runner, jotting down measurements on a pad of paper. He believed that if he could remove one … Read More >

Recycled paper: What does going green mean?

The movement to go green in as many ways as possible is not a new notion. We recycle just about everything these days and for good reason. More often than not people find it odd not to be able to simply take their cans, plastic and paper to the curb anymore and have it magically taken off their … Read More >

Customer Showcase: Boots, Balls and Ammo (not what you think)

Indigo Resource Group, a Printing for Less customer, designed an 11x17" half-fold brochure with an interesting title, and an old-time, "Western" look to the design (sepia tones and a cowboy boot). The title is definitely eye-catching, with a humorous double entendre included. Check it out here: Need help with … Read More >

5 Nontraditional Tear-Off Tab Flyer Ideas

Tear-off tabs have huge potential: micro-perforations in print media add a degree of interactivity and can even result in dual-purpose marketing materials. Despite these benefits, however, many brands overlook this print effect in their marketing strategies, limiting their use to coupons. In this … Read More >

Don’t Try to Edit PDFs in Adobe Illustrator

For years, editing PDFs was discouraged. There were too many things that could go wrong.  Ideally, edits are made in the original application to avoid any compatibility issues and the potential nightmare of keeping track of changes between formats. But improvements to the PDF format (thanks to … Read More >

Viewing Transparency Issues

Some newer RIPs (raster image processors) used to prepare artwork for commercial printing don’t require that transparency in the art be flattened. We covered what transparency flattening is in this posting. For example, Adobe PDF Print Engine RIPs can accept PDF files that contain live … Read More >
