Wacky and Stinky:
Engage your customers in a new way with creative use of scented inks or glues. For example, a car dealership that is investing in a direct mail campaign would increase the effectiveness by adding a "new car scent" on the mailer. It entices the customer to imagine getting into a new car. Or a bakery that is promoting their chocolate chip cookies can send a scratch-n-sniff cookie image that invites customers to come in for the real thing.
Scented Printing F.A.Q.:
Can I mail a piece with scented ink?
Absolutely. The USPS has approved the mailing of scented surfaces. The only stipulation is that the scent cannot be exposed during delivery. Any postcard or direct mail must have a cover on the scent or the piece can be designed with a fold to meet this requirement.
How long will the scent last?
Once the scented ink is printed, it will be lightly sealed with a thin coating. Until it is slightly rubbed, that scent can last for years. If you need a large quantity, you can rest assured the scent will be strong.
Can I use more than one scent at a time?
You bet. We can incorporate any combination you need.
Do I have to use a specialty paper to print with scented inks?
No. You can choose from our selection of premium, recycled, or standard papers. We will coat the paper to hold the scented ink.
Can I expect the same quality of printing, or will the scented ink look cheap?
We are not about to let quality slip. You can count on PFL to deliver the same industry-leading quality and service. The scented ink portion will look every bit as amazing as the entire piece.
