UV coating is a highly protective, ultra-shiny gloss coating that we apply over aqueous coating and then cure on a special machine using ultraviolet light. The solvent-free UV coating provides an extremely hard finish that�s chemical and abrasion resistant. It makes details really pop! On deep colors, it results in a stunning, almost wet appearance. Perfect when you want an environmentally-friendly and durable piece with a richer, high-end look and feel.
NOTE: UV Coating cannot be used on the addressed side of mailed pieces.
Soft Touch is a coating that gives your piece a velvety feel, while significantly reducing fingerprinting. Darker colors will appear more muted than lighter colors. In the past, people used expensive matte film lamination to achieve a similar effect. Although Soft Touch is a little more expensive than our other coatings, it offers an unparalleled look and feel, and is faster, less expensive, and much higher quality than matte film lamination.
Many images, particularly 72dpi jpegs taken off the Internet, look jagged and blurry when printed using crisp, professional lithography on glossy stock. For best results, we recommend that your images be at least 300dpi (dots per inch). Our Resolution page has a detailed explanation of how to make sure your images turn out best.
You will have more control over the appearance of your printed piece if you convert all of the images from RGB to CMYK before sending them to us. When we receive RGB images, we do a standard-value conversion to CMYK, which may not be perfectly to your liking. You can use popular programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Photo Deluxe to perform the conversions. A thorough explanation of this process can be found on our RGB - CMYK Information page.
We want you to be happy so please take the time to prepare your file properly. We cannot be responsible for sub-par results if you furnish low-res images or RGB images.
