The Referral Engine
As businesspeople, we all love referrals because of their direct impact and low cost. But sitting back and waiting for them to come to you isn't always the best strategy. So, last month we asked if your company has a formal referral program in place and what tools you offer your customers to spread the word.
The results were mixed, with 60% of those who answered saying that they do have a formal referral program in place, and 40% saying they do not. When asked what tools you use to help your advocates refer others, 35.7% incorporate printed handouts, 21.4% take advantage of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, and 21.4% send out tell-a-friend emails.
