summertime3Ah, the lazy days of summer... fun in the sun, picnics at the park, backyard barbecues, trips to the lake, and leisurely walks around your neighborhood. Right? Well, sort of. Sometimes our workloads don't always shift along with the temperatures, leaving us little time to enjoy the summer sun. So, if you find yourself gazing out your office window thinking summer is passing you by, it might be time to re-prioritize your schedule.

Now, we're not suggesting you quit work and become a beach bum, but if you incorporate some small changes into your work routine, you just might find you are more productive (and happier). Start with taking some time out for lunch and head outside to enjoy the warmth of the day. Consider holding business meetings in pleasant locations such as an outdoor café or park. Get up early to watch the sun rise. Whatever summer activities you enjoy, try to find time to squeeze them into your day. By focusing on a healthy work-life balance, you will feel refreshed and ready take on anything.

Recession Rebound?
Nobody knows for sure what is going to happen to the economy in the coming months. So, last month we took the current pulse by asking you what your business has been experiencing. The majority (43%) of those that responded say that they are seeing signs of hope, 36% say that business is still continuing to slide, and 21% say that business has leveled out. Additional comments were all across the board:

  • "I will have my best year ever since beginning my speaking
    and training business 5 years ago."
     
  • "Our business hasn't been this slow since the 90's." 
  • "While many give verbal approval to future work, none are signing. Getting people to 'pull the trigger' has become a very creative endeavor."

PFL Holds Annual 'Woof-Fest', Named Top Pet-Friendly Company
Although every day is "Take Your Dog to Work Day" here at PFL, we pulled out all the stops on June 26th by commemorating with our 2nd annual dog show (Woof-Fest!). "Take Your Dog to Work Day" is a national holiday dedicated to promoting pet adoptions and celebrating our four-legged friends. Food Frenzy: PFL Employees Help Families in Need
PrintingForLess.com recently held a company-wide food drive to collect non-perishable food donations for the local Livingston Food Pantry.  "The amount of food that PFL collected will help us feed more than 50 families for one week," says Michael McCormick, executive director of the Livingston Food Pantry. "Thanks to the generous contribution of PFL's employees, we can now better provide for families in need."
