puzzlepicture32010 is the perfect time to start thinking about marketing in a whole new way. Gone are the days of solo direct mail campaigns, one-off email blasts, or isolated print ads. It's time to take all of your juicy marketing initiatives and make them work together to reinforce your message. Integrated marketing doesn't have to be complicated or something only the 'big guys' do. It simply means combining all aspects of your marketing - direct mail, web, email, radio, PPC, print advertising, public relations, SEO, word of mouth, social, etc. - to create a more holistic approach to promoting your business.

Hitting your customers and prospects with the same message across various mediums will help drive awareness, increase sales, and get you more bang for your buck. Getting started is easy. Try a simple postcard mailing that drives people to your website for more information or to redeem an offer. Combine that with an email highlighting the same offer, and then tweet about it to your list of followers. Whatever your angle, make sure every encounter creates a consistent experience that reminds people of who you are and what you have to offer.

This month we're lending proof that direct mail is unquestionably effective, introducing a durable new product, and offering a bundle of useful design extras...for free!

  December survey Results

To Give or Not to Give
Due to the economy, some small businesses chose not to send gifts to their top customers over the holidays. Others used the holidays as way to make that much-needed personal connection with their customers. Last month, we inquired about your gift-giving intentions. Of those that responded, more than half (57.6%) said you planned to send out customer holiday gifts.

When asked what innovative or creative gifts you planned on sending, answered included: customized calendars, chocolates, gift certificates, CDs, contractor gloves, and even Omaha Steaks. Yummy!
