Marketing with Custom Magnet Printing

While we primarily promote our business magnet stock product for our 'magnet business cards,' there are several different sizes and uses for the custom made magnets we print. The sky is the limit really, and we constantly see new, creative uses for magnets on printing jobs our customers send us. Here are several magnet ideas that we see on a regular basis:

Save the Date Magnets:

We've seen these magnets used for various events and occasions such as church events, birthdays and other parties and the ever-popular save the date wedding magnets with a photo of the wedding couple.

Team Schedule Magnets (or sports schedule magnets):

My daughter's volleyball team recently put one of these together. It's a great addition to our fridge, and a handy reference for all of her game times and locations. We also print quite a few team schedule magnets for high school sports teams that have team sponsor logos and even coupon offers around the outside of the schedule.

Calendar Magnets:

A popular choice for many service-type businesses is the magnetic calendar. It's a functional piece that stays on the refrigerator year-round (with the mini-month calendar design), and is a constant, ready-reference in time of emergency. Calendar magnets are popular with plumbers, electricians, salons, and landscapers specifically, but we've seen them used with a variety of businesses.

School Calendar Magnets:

Another popular choice for school groups (choir, band, etc.) are school calendar magnets that list days off and any significant event for the sponsoring group (concert dates & times, etc.). We typically see these funded by sponsors or supporters of the school group designing the magnet.

Coupon Magnets:

Many businesses have a long-standing offer that they like to promote with coupon magnets. Some of the ideas we've seen roll off our presses include $ or % off for restaurants, $ or % off for service calls when they mention the magnet. It's a great way to stay in front of customers.

Appliance Magnets:

A common practice among appliance retailers and installers is to leave a sticker on the appliance with the information on who to call for service. In addition to stickers, we see a lot of our appliance businesses turning to magnets to inform the owner of who to contact for emergency or maintenance issues. Most appliances are metal, so appliance magnets make a lot of sense.

Car Magnets:

This one's a no brainer! Many business owners use magnetic car signs to promote their brand and their business. Another benefit to personalized car door magnets is that they're a little more flexible and temporary than more permanent car decals and wraps.

Take Out Menu Magnets:

An ingenious idea for restaurants! Shrink your take-out menu down and put it on a fridge magnet. Or just take your best-selling food items and include them on your menu magnet with your contact phone number and address. You'll be surprised at the long-term return on investment, because these menus just keep hanging around.

Promotional Magnets:

We see a lot of magnets that are created for a specific events; kind of like a 'save the date magnet' but with more flair and branding. We've done these for city celebrations and radio station promotions to name a few. They can also be cut with a custom die to turn your promo magnet into various shapes and sizes. However you use them, full color magnets in any form are a great way to stay in front of your customers year-round. They allow you to give a functional piece to your customer or prospect while branding your business with staying power. Go beyond the simple business card magnet. Get creative and give your next marketing effort some real staying power by putting your message or offer on a magnet. It's marketing that sticks!
